NAILS & STAPLES

The staple is a strong finishing piece, and can be used for hard woods, where a small brad nail would not be strong enough to hold the two pieces together. They are also best used outside on roofing projects, or on wooden casements.

You can use Staples standard staples with all common office staplers, including both hand and electric staplers. Each staple has a 1/4-inch leg length, and each strip has 210 staples, so the staples conform to standardsize specifications.

Nails vsStaplesNails and staples differ in their holding properties. A staple willgive a stronger, less-forgiving hold because of its two-pronged construction. Nailsallow for a more natural expansion and contraction of the hardwood floorboards with fewer problems.
