Overview
PVC Well Casing & Screen Pipes are widely used in water well drilling applications due to their lightweight structure, high strength, ease of installation, durability, corrosion resistance, and cost efficiency. Borehole and drilling site conditions are generally aggressive, making PVC a reliable solution for long-term well performance.
General Usage Notes (As Provided)
- Scientific documentation and technical data should be followed at every stage, from site selection to pipe installation.
- Pipes waiting for installation should be placed on wooden wedges, covered, and stored in shaded areas.
- Pipes must not be dropped or hit during loading and transportation; thread ends should be protected.
Installation & Handling Guidelines (As Provided)
- Thread protectors on male ends should remain in place until the pipe is lowered into position.
- Pipes must be visually inspected before installation; damaged pipes should not be used.
- Pipe selection must match the pump type and well diameter.
- Threads should not be lubricated with grease or chemicals; water and soap are sufficient.
- Adhesives must not be used on threads as they damage the pipe and impair proper connection.
- Only suitable tools, such as belt tightening wrenches that do not damage the pipe, should be used.
Lowering & Alignment in the Well (As Provided)
- If the pipe descends slowly, it should be filled with well mud using a gun or bucket; blowing air into the pipe should be avoided.
- To ensure straight alignment, a centering spring should be installed every 8 meters, including one on the lowest closed pipe.
- If the pipe becomes stuck, it should be withdrawn and the well re-cleaned with an auger before reinstallation.
Graveling & Pump Installation Notes (As Provided)
- After reaching the well bottom, the pipe should be lifted at least 10 cm and kept suspended during graveling.
- Gravel should be placed evenly and continuously around the pipe to maintain alignment.
- Special care must be taken to avoid gravel bridging, especially in silty formations, to prevent well collapse.
- Pumps or pump-related components must not be mounted directly onto PVC pipes.
- An iron sheet pipe should be used at the well end to carry the pump load; PVC casing should not bear pump weight.
- Pump selection must consider the internal diameter of the PVC pipes.
