Metal Eyeleted Flat Gaskets

Overview

Metal eyeleted flat gaskets are designed to improve the safety and durability of flat gaskets used in demanding applications. A metal eyelet, usually fitted to the inner or outer diameter, protects the sealing material against erosion, extrusion, and blowout under high pressure and temperature conditions.

Design & Construction

• Flat gasket with metallic eyelet reinforcement
• Eyelet protects the gasket bore or outer edge from mechanical damage
• Available with inner eyelet, outer eyelet, or both (upon request)
• Cut gaskets available with or without metal eyelets

Sealing Materials

• Flexible graphite (most common sealing insert)
• Compressed fiber materials
• PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene)
• Other soft gasket materials upon request

Metal Eyelet Materials

• Carbon steel
• Stainless steel (SS 304, SS 316L, etc.)
• Other alloys depending on pressure, temperature, and media
