ASTM A213 T12 seamless ferritic alloy steel pipes and tubes for boiler, superheater, and heat-exchanger applications. Designed for elevated-temperature service with controlled manufacturing, heat treatment, and mandatory mechanical and non-destructive or hydrostatic testing in accordance with ASTM A213 requirements.

Manufacturing
- Produced by the seamless process
- Supplied either hot finished or cold finished, as specified in the order
Heat Treatment
- Heat treatment performed separately and in addition to hot forming
- Ferritic alloy and ferritic stainless steels are reheated as required
- Austenitic stainless steel tubes supplied in heat-treated condition
- After hot forming, tubes may be quenched in water or rapidly cooled where permitted
Testing & Inspection
- Tension test
- Hardness test
- Flattening test
- Flaring test
- Each tube subjected to either non-destructive electric testing or hydrostatic testing
Typical Size Range
- Inside Diameter: 1/8 in. (3.2 mm) and above
- Outside Diameter: up to 5 in. (127 mm)
- Wall Thickness: 0.015 – 0.500 in. (0.4 – 12.7 mm)
