ASTM A335 P5 seamless ferritic chrome-moly alloy steel pipe for high-pressure and elevated-temperature boiler service. Suitable for bending, flanging, forming operations, and fusion welding, supplied with mandatory hydrostatic testing, non-destructive examination, specified mechanical testing, and sea-worthy export packing with full traceability markings.

Inspection & Testing

  • Non-destructive examination (NDE) in accordance with required practices
  • Chemical composition inspection
  • Mechanical tests: tensile, yield, elongation
  • Flattening test
  • Hardness test or bend test
  • Additional tests as specified: flaring, bending, impact (where required)
  • Surface and dimensional inspection

Mechanical Test Sampling

  • Batch-type furnace: tests on 5% of pipe from each treated lot (minimum one pipe for small lots)
  • Continuous heat treatment: minimum two pipes or 5% of the lot

Surface Treatment

  • Oil-dip
  • Varnish
  • Passivation
  • Phosphating
  • Shot blasting

Packing & Marking

  • Bare packing, bundle packing, or crate packing
  • Wooden protection at both pipe ends
  • Sea-worthy export packing as required
  • Each crate marked with order number, heat number, dimensions, weight, and bundle details
