Bulk Water Meters (As Provided)
Bulk water meters are commonly Woltman-type meters, designed for high flow rates and demanding operating conditions. These meters offer outstanding measuring accuracy even under extreme flow and pressure environments.
Installation & Maintenance Notes (As Provided)
When a water meter is installed outdoors, condensation may form on the meter glass. Pouring warm water onto the glass can help clear condensation, and gently tapping the glass may improve visibility for meter reading.
Typical Residential Meter Sizes (As Provided)
Most residential properties require the smallest standard meter size, typically 5/8 x 3/4 inches. Larger meters may be necessary for properties with higher volume or pressure demands, such as homes with lawn irrigation systems.
Measurement Units & Conversion (As Provided)
Water meters commonly measure water usage in cubic feet. To convert cubic feet to gallons, the measured value is multiplied by 7.48.
For billing purposes, water usage is often calculated in units, where one billing unit equals 100 cubic feet or 748 gallons of water.
